Talk:The Wotch: CHEER

Three things.

  1. You say that "this comic is completely devoid of the trivialized lighthearted transformation shenanigans," and that's... not really true, is it?
    1. There's a series of fillers starring the author - in the very first, Anne turns him into a woman, and he stays that way. (I think later s/he touches the Dewitchery Diamond by mistake - I can't be bothered to look it up, but I know ultimately Tsel and "Tselly" are separate.) It's not in-canon, but it's a rather frequent part of the comic, and certainly qualifies as, well... that.
    2. Some boy is turned into a girl because... um... conspiracy. I guess it's not as "trivialized" or "lighthearted" as The Wotch, but as I recall it's definitely played for laughs (though to be fair, so is keeping him manacled in a closet); wouldn't have been too out of place in that comic.
  2. That weird-ass final arc. First they're having the same dream, then the dream becomes an MMORPG world, then they start interacting with real players, and finally they bring game elements out into the real world, and Tsel loses interest before anything makes sense.
  3. Weren't you at one point a friggin' 910 mod?! I think you're understating your checkered past. (Though... maybe I'm not one to talk.) Longsock (talk) 03:08, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

  • BTIsac was a 910mod!? lol... that explains a lot. He started making this review than got banned from the site mid-way for getting on everyone's nerves. He deleted review but I took a copy from the archive and finished it up. I didn't actually read the comic, just skim it and improve the review because I thought I was a bit too positive. Thanks for the info, i'll work it into the review. Busey.png oddguy Busey.png 07:23, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

This is probably a rather silly reason to create an account over (though I guess making a Shoutwiki account was a bit overdue since I use it a fair bit), but the review doesn't read like a two star review... in fact, it makes it seem like a pretty decent comic, with actual characterization and plot, as opposed to the original comic. More of a 3 star than a 2. Though I see in the previous comments the review author had some conflict of interest he hasn't stated, so I don't know the extent of how much that affected the review.

Edit: Apparently the comic now has a more permanent and stable archive here. The review could use pointing to this instead of the dead links. TheFetishMachine (talk)
